Logo and identity for or Madtown Volleyball, a League One Volleyball club located in Madison, Wisconsin. Based on the iconic architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, so inseparable from the city and surrounding area, the primary Madtown symbol combines the clubʼs initials in a bold monogram inspired by the triangular forms of the architect's Unitarian Meeting House.
The Madtown logotype and secondary logos incorporate a custom font based on FLWʼs lettering style and signage for the architectʼs Taliesin home, which I was lucky enough to visit before starting this project. It features spiky apexes, varied-width glyphs with alternate characters, and low-set crossbars combining regional relevance with sport intensity. Madtown Display is prominently featured in the clubʼs uniforms, which also include my favorite detail in this project: Old-style figures for the kit numbers.
